Bobby Flay and Brooke Williamson Reveal What It’s Like To Have 2 Celebrity Chefs in a Home Kitchen—and How They’re Prepping for Thanksgiving

The Food Network couple explained what it's like to run a home kitchen with two celebrity chefs and revealed their turkey dinner plans.

Food Network chefs Bobby Flay and Brooke Williamson are getting ready for another Thanksgiving celebration at their beautiful Hamptons home, and they've shared their best tips and tricks ahead of the holiday.

In an interview with People magazine, the power couple said that their best advice is to start dinner prep early.

“Prep as much as you can ahead of time,” said Williamson, 48. “I think stuffing tastes better the next day, once it’s had a chance to meld together.”

Flay, 61, dropped another helpful piece of advice: “Have chicken stock on your stove. It reheats the sliced turkey, which ultimately gets dried out no matter what you do. It can also thin out gravy that gets too thick.”

While one might assume that having two celebrity chefs in a household can feel like a case of too many cooks in the kitchen, the duo said it’s never a problem for them.

“We definitely split up the work,” said Williamson. “It never feels like we’re in each other’s way. It feels like it makes sense.”

Flay and Williamson invited the publication into the kitchen of their New York City home, showing off the gorgeous cabinets and generously sized island.

After a recent trip to Italy, the couple told the magazine that they’re planning a Tuscan-inspired feast this year, joking that it’ll be a “mini ‘Brady Bunch’” scenario with their blended families. Flay is dad to 30-year-old Sophie, while Williamson has a son, Hudson, 18.

In September, Flay spoke about the home kitchens he has in his two residences—his Tribeca pad and an estate in the Hamptons.

“The kitchen is spacious, and I make three meals a day in there,” he told The Wall Street Journal. ”The space relaxes me and allows me to cook for family and friends.”

In his home out East, the kitchen is not just a place to whip up delicious meals. The room functions more like a full-fledged restaurant.

“On the other side of my sizable island are three French cafe tables for guests,” he explained. The setup is even equipped with a professional fryer, which he described as a “recent kitchen splurge.”

Among his latest kitchen tools is a utensil he’s relied on for years: “I still have the chef’s knife I used at [the French Culinary Institute],” he shared. “When [I] prepare food with it, the feel reminds me that I’m still learning every day."

Flay built the dwelling from the ground up during his marriage to “Law and Order: SVU” actress Stephanie March. The former couple, who divorced in 2015, hosted a turkey dinner for a staggering 50 guests at their first Thanksgiving in the home.

“I prepared two 30-pound turkeys and cooked sides for days,” he recalled in a 2013 interview with Elle Decor. “I stand at my kitchen island from the minute I get out here to the minute I leave.”

Although Flay has publicly discussed his desire to steer clear of matrimony after three divorces, he and Williamson have agreed on an alternative way to show their commitment to each other.

“She’s like, ‘I just want a big ring and a big party,’ and I was like, ‘I love that idea because my marriages have not lasted, unfortunately,’” he told People.

Explaining that the “most important thing” is to “make sure that Brooke feels like she’s committed to,” he recalled of the moment he gifted her a “giant diamond ring” during a trip to London.

Williamson describes the flashy piece of jewelry as “the perfect ring,” adding that “it’s very sparkly.”

Although she was initially thrown off by the gesture, she now sports the rock on her right hand.

“I thought it was incredibly thoughtful,” said Williamson. “He said just because I don’t feel the need to get married or want to get married again doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve the big, beautiful ring that comes along with it.”

While Flay has been private about his past relationships, he admits he’s been more open this time around, and cites all they have in common for his “confidence” about their partnership.

“I feel very confident about this,” he said of the pair’s connection. “There’s so many wonderful things about it.”
