Inside Christina Applegate’s Los Angeles Home—Where She’s Lived Since 1995 and Found Sanctuary During Health Battle

The actress, who was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis, has retreated to her home as a safe place amid health issues.

Actress Christina Applegate has recently shared the news that she was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a development she’s “still in shock” over.

After a seven-month hiatus to focus on her health, the “Dead to Me” star returned to her podcast, “MeSsy with Christina Applegate and Jamie Lynn Sigler,” for back-to-back Oct. 20 episodes.

During the first episode, Applegate, 54, tearfully revealed her doctor said, “Congratulations, you don’t have MS.”

“I was, like, not happy at all. Everybody else was so happy,” she recalled, noting that her frustration stems from the fact that her symptoms are still prevalent despite the misdiagnosis.

“If anything, I’ve gotten worse. So I’m back at square one where I don’t know what’s going on with me,” Applegate continued.

Applegate was initially diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021 and detailed her experience with both the autoimmune disorder and her 2008 breast cancer diagnosis in her memoir, “You With the Sad Eyes.”

While promoting the book in February 2026, Applegate spoke to People magazine and explained that her home has become a safe haven for her as she continues to navigate challenging health symptoms.

Sharing that she spends much of her time in bed with limited mobility, Applegate said her “favorite thing to do” is drive her daughter to school and other activities.

“It’s the only time we have together by ourselves,” she said. “I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do.”

Applegate lives in Los Angeles with her husband, musician Martyn LeNoble, 57, and daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble, 15.

The family lives in a four-bedroom, four-bathroom Hollywood home Applegate purchased in 1995 for $950,000—and has lived in ever since, according to Velvet Ropes.

The 4,740-square-foot abode is located on a 1.45-acre lot filled with lush greenery and trees.

Realtor.com® estimates the current market value of $4.3 million for the home, which was built in 1989.

The “Anchorman” actress has updated the home over the three decades she's lived there.

In 2016, she renovated the kitchen—which she said was previously “godawful”—for the first time since moving in, sharing the dramatic transformation with PopSugar.

Applegate had been putting off a renovation for years to avoid disrupting the family’s daily life, but when the home sustained significant damage due to a flood and the flooring needed to be ripped up anyway, she opted to give the space a makeover.

The result was a bright and airy kitchen and dining area, with sleek white cabinets and countertops, plenty of storage, and chic dark hardwood floors.

“It’s so much nicer, so much more comfortable,” Applegate said. “It’s a place now where we can celebrate as opposed to a place that we want to get out of as fast as possible—which is what it was like for me for the last 20 years of living in this house.”

The renovation also included the addition of a mudroom space, which immediately proved to be useful, as Applegate has a strict no-shoe policy at home.

“Before, you’d come into the foyer and it was just shoes everywhere, and it was awful,” she explained. “Now, people can go into the mudroom and sit on a beautiful bench and put their shoes on.”

Applegate hasn’t just lived in Los Angeles since snapping up her longtime home in the ‘90s. She was actually born and raised in Laurel Canyon, where she resided with her single mom, actress and musician Nancy Priddy, 85.

During Applegate’s childhood, 1970s Laurel Canyon—once praised for its legendary music scene—had become infamous for the drug problems that affectedc the area.

Applegate explored her memories of the time in her memoir, opening up about how her mother’s struggle with addiction shadowed her younger years.

“I had kind of the worst situation from 3 to 7,” she told People magazine. “But there was stuff like that going on in all our homes.”
