Explore a Colorado estate featuring a subterranean 10-car gallery, Pikes Peak views, a heated treehouse, and Castle Pines golf access.
A Colorado estate with a car gallery built into the mountainside has hit the market for $12.5 million.
Set on nearly 7 acres along the eighth fairway of Castle Pines Golf Club, 3 Elk Pointe Lane in The Village at Castle Pines spans about 13,800 square feet. The property is poised to become the highest-priced residential sale in Castle Rock.
The owners, Lewis and Rebecca Kling, built the home with architect Don Ruggles and the builder Montare.
“The owners haven’t made any updates, as they were very precise with their design 16 years ago,” says listing agent Stacie Chadwick of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, who shares the listing with Justin Joseph.

The car gallery was built into the mountainside. (Wayup Media and Andrew Forino) That precision is evident from the moment you step inside, where an 8-foot-wide gallery runs 140 feet beneath 21-foot ceilings, lined with walnut floors and limestone pillars, before ending at a floor-to-ceiling wall of glass.
“The architect thoughtfully positioned the residence on its nearly 7-acre site to capture the surrounding landscape, even shifting the home inches during construction to perfectly frame Pikes Peak through the center of its dramatic entry gallery,” Chadwick says.
Solid walnut carries through the floors, doors, cabinetry, and coffered ceilings. A two-story water feature accompanies a floating walnut-and-steel staircase, and there are a total of 11 fireplaces, seven inside and four out.
The dining room seats 12 beneath three crystal chandeliers and opens to a 400-bottle wine room. The kitchen features Gaggenau appliances, bar seating for six, and a TV that rises into view.
The primary suite includes a fireplace, a private deck, and a bath with a three-sided steam shower. Four lower-level en suite bedrooms each open to a deck or patio, part of roughly 8,000 square feet of outdoor space connected to every room in the house.
There’s also a theater with a 108-inch screen, a fitness suite with a sauna, and a panic room. A Crestron/Vantage system controls about 620 interior and exterior lights.

The roughly 3,400-square-foot subterranean gallery holds about 10 cars, which reach the circular drive by hydraulic elevator. It has its own kitchen, bar, fireplace, and bathroom. There's also Hermès-inspired etched glass and a fire pit overlooking the fairway.
Outside, a trail leads to a heated treehouse, and commissioned sculptures by Colorado artist Jim Vilona dot the grounds. The home was a 2016 Colorado Homes & Lifestyles Home of the Year finalist, and its landscape earned a Grand Award from the National Association of Landscape Professionals.
Residents of the community have access to two Jack Nicklaus–designed golf courses, trails, and tennis and pickleball courts.
“The combination of architectural vision, engineering, art, privacy, and extraordinary amenities creates a property that would be exceptionally difficult to replicate today,” Chadwick says.
