Inside the $28M Waterfront Estate Offering Panoramic Lake Washington Views—and a Primary Bigger Than an NYC Apartment

A $28M Hamptons-style waterfront estate hits the market in Medina, WA, boasting panoramic Lake Washington views and a 550 sq ft closet.

Good things come to those who wait, and a couple of restarts paid off in terms of a perfect view from one Seattle-area home.

Now, this unique 13,840-square-foot home, finished in 2023, is listed for $28 million.

"[The house] has the most spectacular view because it incorporates the downtown Bellevue skyline, the Cascade Mountains, Mount Rainier, Meydenbauer Bay, and Lake Washington all into one view, which is pretty rare. Usually, you get one of those things," says listing agent Lisa Turnure with Coldwell Banker Bain of Bellevue.

"This [house] is my style too [and] I thought, I could live here. It is a dream. It is one of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen, and I see a lot of beautiful homes."

Turnure is very familiar with this house since she helped the sellers find the perfect place to put their dream home in Medina, WA.

"Their biggest criteria was view, and of course a beautiful house as well, so we looked and looked, and were having a really hard time finding the perfect combination," Turnure explains, adding that as her clients were flying out of the area, a home came on the market.

They bought that home for the double lot and made plans to tear it down and build new.

"They went about having a home designed for the property and then lo and behold, we find out that the home next door to them is going to come on the market," she says, adding they snapped it up before it was listed.

That deal meant three contiguous parcels totaling 1.37 acres with 275 feet of water frontage, so they scrapped the design they'd spent months working on and started over.

"The home is very much like a Hamptons style, and a lot of the homes being built in Medina, where this house is, are more the modern type, so this really stands out as a pretty unique and spectacular property. You really feel like you're in the Hamptons."

The home is very long and somewhat sprawling.

"Part of the reason they did that is because they wanted to capture the view from every single room that was important in that house," Turnure explains. "That length of the house allowed them to have really large rooms and still have everything important on the view side of the house."

There are two stories, with the main level having the primary suite and common living areas.

"When you come in the front door, you immediately see the view out these huge floor-to-ceiling glass doors and that opens up to the kitchen and the dining room and all of the main living areas," she says, adding five more ensuite bedrooms are upstairs, with four having views.

The primary bedroom has a spectacular closet.

"I think it's 550 square feet, something like that. Huge. It's bigger than some people's apartments who live in New York City," she says with a laugh. "It’s a room unto itself and behind it, there’s a laundry room dedicated to the primary suite."

But while the huge closet, soaring ceilings, and Hamptons-like coastal elegance are impressive, they aren't the home’s best features. The view steals the show.

"When people come and look at [the home], they literally can't stop looking at the view. They are just mesmerized. I’ve listed at a lot of view homes, and I've never seen people behave quite like that," Turnure says, acknowledging the photos almost look too good to be true.

"The view is that good. In fact, people who come to look at it in person say the photos don't even do it justice."

While the sellers are moving on from their dream home, Turnure says it will be perfect for someone else who appreciates the unique architecture, which combines large room sizes and high ceilings with a more traditional style.

"It's a perfect juxtaposition of older architecture and new finishes and quality. We had one party look at it with their contractor and said it's one of the finest quality homes he’s seen," she says. "I think it's that kind of home that someone's just going to fall in love with. It's pretty spectacular."
